  • Faculty Representative Package Deadline: Wed, Sep 9 @ 12 pm (noon) MT
  • Nominator Signature List Verification Deadline: Fri, Sep 11 @ 1 pm MT
  • Mandatory All Candidates Meeting: Wed, Sep 16 from 5:30 – 7 pm MT
  • Coffee with the Candidates: Thu, Sep 17 • 11 am – 1 pm MT • Atrium, SCFL
  • Election Voting Period: Mon, Sep 21 @ 11 am – Wed, Sep 23 @ 11 am MT

Appointed Nomination Dates

Being on Students’ Council gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and enhance your resume while advocating for students at NorQuest. It also opens up many opportunities for training, development as well as scholarships and awards.

Which position do I put my name forward for?

Faculty or Appointed?

Faculty Representatives:

  • Students can only put their name forward for the Faculty their program belongs to.
    • Faculty of Arts & Sciences Representatives (1 open position)
    • Faculty of Health Studies Representatives (3 open positions)
    • Faculty of Skills & Foundational Learning Representatives (3 open positions)
  • Complete a Faculty Representative package
  • Get student nominators
  • Campaign during the election process
  • Are elected through a voting process by fellow NorQuest students.

Appointed Representatives:

  • Positions include:
    • Student-at-Large Board of Governors Representative (NO OPEN POSITIONS)
    • Self-Identified Indigenous Board of Governors Representative (1 open position)
    • Self-Identified Regional Representative (1 open position)
  • Complete an Appointed Representative package
  • Get student nominators and letters of reference
  • Are appointed through a review process done by a selection committee

How to put your name forward for a Faculty Representative position

  • Faculty of Arts & Sciences Representatives (1 open position)
      • Includes but not limited to: Arts & Sciences, Justice Studies, Child & Youth Care, ELCC, Business Studies, Accounting Tech, Admin Professional, Technology Studies, Machine Learning Analyst, Health Admin Tech
  • Faculty of Health Studies Representatives (3 open positions)
      • Includes but not limited to: Practical Nurse, Interdisciplinary Therapy Assistant, Pharmacy Tech., Therapeutic Rec., Health Care Aide
  • Faculty of Skills & Foundational Learning Representatives (3 open positions)
      • Includes but not limited to: Academic Upgrading, EAL, Settlement Studies

Get your Faculty Representative package HERE. The submission deadline is Wed, Sep 9 at 12 pm (noon) MT.

  • Get your student nominators to fill out the nominator form HERE before Fri, Sep 11 @ 1 pm MT.
  • Check your NorQuest student email often for updates, further information and instructions.

You’ll receive an email confirming your Faculty Representative package submission. Make sure the students that nominated you know to watch their email so they can help finalize your package.

How to put your name forward for an Appointed Representative position

  • Student-at-Large Board of Governors Representative (NO OPEN POSITIONS)
      • This role is open to current NorQuest College students who meet the eligibility requirements as laid out in the Appointed Representative package. The Board of Governors provides oversight of the college by acting within clearly defined roles, effective governance structures and consistent processes. The Board represents the public in its oversight and stewardship of the public resources provided for NorQuest College. Click HERE for full details.
  • Self-Identified Indigenous Board of Governors Representative (1 open position)
      • This role is open to current NorQuest College students who self-identify as Indigenous to Canada and meet the eligibility requirements as laid out in the Appointed Representative package. The Board of Governors provides oversight of the college by acting within clearly defined roles, effective governance structures and consistent processes. The Board represents the public in its oversight and stewardship of the public resources provided for NorQuest College. Click HERE for full details.
  • Self-Identified Regional Representative (1 open position)
      • This role is open to current NorQuest College students who self-identify as a regional student (primarily not on main campus) and meet the eligibility requirements as laid out in the Appointed Representative package.

  • Submit your letters of reference with your package or email them to SANQCElections@norquest.ca before Wed, Sep 9 @ 12 pm (noon) MT.
  • Get your student nominators to fill out the nominator form HERE before Fri, Sep 11 @ 1 pm MT.
