Academic Council
The Academic Council is one of NorQuest College’s key governance bodies.
The Council provides perspectives and recommendations on academic matters and helps support the quality and effectiveness of teaching and learning at the College.
As a student representative, you will work alongside students, faculty, administrators, and College leadership to provide input on academic issues and initiatives. This helps shape the academic experience at NorQuest College.

What do Academic Council Representatives do?
Attend meetings, review materials, bring student perspectives forward, and contribute to decision making at the College.
What is the time commitment?
Academic Council meets the second Tuesday of each month from October through June from 5 pm to 6:30 pm.
Representatives also attend a 4:30 pm pre-meeting and a package review meeting approximately one week before each meeting.
Honorarium Compensation
Academic Council Representatives will receive an honorarium of $24.04 per hour, up to a maximum of 4 hours per month based on attendance and preparation that is completed.

Who can apply?
Current NorQuest students who are current members of the Students’ Association that are interested in advocacy, can commit to meetings, and are willing to represent diverse student perspectives.
Students from various programs and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
