During the 2026 Fall term, your Students’ Association is bringing you exciting workshop opportunities at discounted or NO cost to you!

Blended Intermediate First Aid CPR/AED C

SANQC is offering Blended Intermediate First Aid CPR/AED C training at a discounted rate to 2026 Fall NorQuest students!

All you’ll pay is the non-refundable $75 registration fee (plus applicable Eventbrite fees). This also gets you lunch during your in-person session. This type of training alone can cost up to $160!

This offer is only valid for 2026 Fall NorQuest students.

The deadline to register is 10 days before the start date of your chosen session.

Available Dates

You only need to attend one in-person session, and you need to be available for the entire duration, from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. There are 18 spots available for each session and they will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Please select your date carefully.

  • Sat, Oct 17 • 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
  • Fri, Oct 23 • 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
  • Sat, Nov 7 • 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Information about the blended course administered by Big Hearts First Aid

  • Students will need to complete an online portion of the course prior to attending the in-person training.
  • The online portion will be sent to your email and can take 6-8 hours to complete.
  • The in-person portion will take place at the NorQuest College main downtown campus.

Upon completion

Students will receive a certificate in  Intermediate First Aid and CPR/AED Level C that is valid for 3 years from Canadian Red Cross.

*Note: For students in the health care field, this first aid training DOES NOT replace the Basic Life Support (BLS) first aid training that may be required in your courses.

Non-refundable registration fee information

  • A registration fee of $75 (plus applicable Eventbrite fees) per person is required for the Blended Intermediate First Aid CPR/AED C training workshop.
  • Registration fees must be paid to secure your spot.
  • The LINC program does not qualify for the SANQC workshop series
  • IMPORTANT: If you are not able to attend the full workshop, your registration fee will NOT be refunded.

Naloxone Training

Your Students’ Association is working with Recovery Alberta to provide 2026 Fall NorQuest students with Naloxone training, at no cost to you.

Available Date (15 spots available per session):

  • Tue, Oct 20 • 10 am – 12 pm
  • Registration Deadline: Tue, Oct 20 before 10 am

Naloxone is a life-saving drug that can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose, giving emergency medical services time to arrive. This training covers the following:

  • Hands on training on Intramuscular Naloxone administration
  • Harm reduction 101 discussion

Naloxone kits will be provided to all participants.

Peer Crisis Management

Students will learn how their physicality, tone of voice, and body language impacts their daily communication with those around them. Students will hone their interpersonal abilities while navigating difficult situations like arguments, disagreements, or heavy conversations regarding grief, loss, substance abuse, physical abuse, depression, and anxieties.

You will learn:

  • The fundamentals of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
  • How to safety engage with people in crisis -Personal risk assessment
  • Confidentiality -Strategies for receiving disclosures from peers
  • Referrals to third party supports where and when they are appropriate

This training will give those in attendance a base line of self-awareness and strengthen their safety skills on and off campus. You will also receive a Certificate of Participation.
